JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) – Teton County commissioners have reversed course and banned snowmobiles from Buffalo Valley Road after residents complained of potential dangers and reduced property values.

Five snowmobilers rescued in northern Wyoming

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — Five lost snowmobilers spent a cold night stranded in the Bighorn Mountains before being rescued over the weekend in northern Wyoming.

Sheridan County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Conrad says the snowmobilers reported being lost in the Bighorn Mountains at about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. They were found about 24 hours later.

CHEYENNE — On Friday, Gov. Dave Freudenthal and the State of Wyoming challenged the National Park Service’s limit of 318 commercially-guided, Best Available Technology (BAT) snowmobiles a day into Yellowstone National Park.
